About Estherine
Some people say I look young. But the truth is I’m not young anymore. Yep, having body aches and complaints o f someone over the hill of 30. Everything of middle age except the wrinkles…
I think it is God’s gift to look young, because I’m not a person who spend lots of time, energy and money to maintain a youthful look. I used to complain. I was mistakened as a 12-year-old when I was 20. Honeymoon was not without misunderstanding; my husband had to explain to a 11-year-old of my same height as the child was puzzled that I held an adult ticket and she was holding a child’s ticket. I have always been misunderstood as a youth, and had even been denied the chance to speak in a “children are to be seen and not heard” environment. It was not without frustration.
Well, now that I’m “up the hill”, I have learnt to appreciate this gift from God.

I used to work in the Republic of Singapore Navy as a technician and have the chance to set up the technical work system according to ISO Certification requirements. I was also trained in floral design. In year 2000, I left the Navy to become a fulltime mother.
I love Japanese food and Japanese Anime! I used to draw, but as I am not formerly trained in art, it takes me hours to draw a character well. It’ll take me weeks to get it painted/ coloured. I love to read, and have a wealth of books and comics at home. Reading is a form of de-stressing for me. I write too, but never have a piece decent enough to be compiled. Many times I feel that there is too much to do and too little time.
Currently, I am homeschooling my two darling boys in Shanghai. My husband works in the Shanghai Singapore International School. If you are wondering why my children are not in SSIS even though my husband teaches there, check out this page. We attend the Hengshan Community Church and Blessed Assurance Home Cell. I also attend BSF and Ladies’ Bible Study Group.
Life with God… it has never ceased to lack excitement…
Hi estherine,
I’m thrilled to find you and this homeschooling website…its consideration which is becoming increasingly serious in our lives at the moment!
I’m going to try to attend one of your meetings this week to meet you all in person and try to educate ourselves first on what HS might entail.
Hope to meet you!
